With Pascha (Easter) arriving soon I wanted the children to experience the Ukrainian tradition of creating Pysanky eggs . Thank you Kathy for bringing Africa to HTOCA! The African crafts, benches, jewelry, clothing, and all the artifacts made for an authentic learning experience… one the students will never forget! Just as I’m sure the children of African thank you for your mission work, we here at HTOCA thank you for sharing your time with us too!
Science Fair
Wow! HTOCA’s Science Fair was a great success! The preschool and elementary children had a chance to share their science experiments with a crowd of family and friends who barely fit in the classrooms. Thank you to all who helped the children discover science hands-on!
Roman Aqueducts
The Kindergarten and 1st graders learned how and why aqueducts where built in Ancient Rome. You can imagine the intrigue and excitement the children had when they poured water into the aqueduct to see how it works. "Mrs. Anzivino tilt it up so the water will go faster," is what a child said. They also learned that an arch can hold a great amount of weight and was used specifically for that reason in the construction of aqueducts.
